It took an insight into the capabilities of data to solve problems and elevated it to an inspiring vision of how we could all make our world work better. In doing so, it made a swathe of new markets for IBM. Smarter Planet has created billions in revenue for IBM, paying back at a rate of $20 for every $ spent on media.
