The chocolate war was on. Brands were fighting hard to buy their way into consumers’ bellies with more price cuts, media spends, and flavors. We launched a great innovation: KitKat Mini Moments Desserts but to get the attention of our young audience, we had to be innovative in our approach. We used augmented reality on Snapchat to gamify our flavors and engaged with youth like never before. The result? High recall, broke industry engagement benchmarks, received 5.2x estimated ROI, and best business performance to date beating big players in confectionary

How could Snickers stand against every other mega brand shouting for attention during the African Cup of Nations? Simple, we don’t. Knowing how Egyptians have been hungry for football for years, we got ahead of the game and reached fans when they were most hungry for football. With a pre-game strategy, we harnessed our hunger insight ‘You’re not you when you’re hungry’ brought to life through “Hungry for Cheering”, a fully integrated breakthrough campaign, giving Snickers in Egypt its best Football season ever, whether in brand, business or engagement!
