Acreditar - Parental Bereavement Petition Campaign
In Portugal, parents who lost a child were only entitled to 5 days of parental bereavement. Acreditar launched a public petition, proposing the extension of this leave to 20 days. The goal of gathering 7,500 signatures in 30 days was reached in just 24 hours, with 83,508 signatures by the campaign's deadline. The campaign, starring real grieving parents, achieved a return of 311 news items with a value of €1,188,835. The law was passed in just 39 days, being symbolically chosen to become the first law of 2022.
