In 2018, OkCupid had been all but forgotten. New dating apps like Tinder had redefined the modern dating world as a place of superficiality and swipe for a sex. How do you make yourself relevant again when you don’t offer what people expected from modern dating? The truth is that was a blessing, people were fed up with the lack of depth and looking for deeper connection, something OkCupid has always offered. Our campaign made interesting sexy by subverting Down. To. F##K and resurrected the brand.

'The Wrath of Time' Integrated Marketing Communication
The Wrath of Time was a Tencent in-house fantasy adventure show soon to be released online. It was adapted from an online fiction. Our aim was to bring it out of its original audience circle and attract more viewers.
We adopted Nu Qing the Rooster, which was a key role in the show, as the core for our creative plan.
We registered Weibo as ‘Nu Qing’ to interact with the audience and built an installation named Chicken Pecked Billboard, which had 10 roosters peck out a pattern of an evil centipede. We also cooperated with KFC in a new menu of rooster wings and aeromodelling player to send a rooster into sky. Model toy of Nu Qing was also released in cooperation with toy designers.
The events made Nu Qing a huge hit, and made The Wrath of Time pretty popular, obtaining high audience ratings.
