Breaking Barriers, Saving Lives
One in 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lives. Yet the message of early detection seems not to reach lower income women. Cronin developed an emotional, yet dignified, campaign to break down the barriers and motivate this target group to schedule a free mammogram. Result: 1,972 women were screened in the 12-wk period - 247% of goal - surpassing by 35% the number screened over the preceding 16 months.
