SUMMARY
When tattoos and Viagra are deemed so "essential" that they are not subject to a sales tax, but menstrual products are classified as "luxury items" meaning the cost is increased by 6%, then maybe the tax code needs to change. We partnered with PERIOD. and their many partners to create awareness of this inequity, get voters to contact their elected officials, and got bipartisan support to remove a tax affecting over 3 million Michigan families.
