SUMMARY
Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies developed CARE TO RECYCLE after research uncovered an opportunity to influence consumer recycling behavior by addressing the issue of personal care products in the bathroom. Through a highly efficient PR and social media campaign, the program achieved 50MM+ impressions and 1MM user engagements (i.e., pledges, video views, shares) within its first year. A poll conducted by partner Recyclebank showed that consumers who participated in the program reported increased bathroom recycling efforts, and were more likely to associate Johnson & Johnson with caring about the environment and recycling education.
