Halo was once the biggest name in video games, but after 14 years and 10+ titles, gamers had begun to grow weary. It was time for a reboot. To launch Halo 5: Guardians, we created #HUNTtheTRUTH, an integrated, immersive campaign that positioned Halos iconic Master Chief as both hero and villain, hunter and hunted. It drove 58.5K social mentions on the first day, earned a 7% share of online conversations that week, and jumped Halo 5 from #5 to #1 on Nielsens Most Anticipated Game list the next month.
