SUMMARY
When families celebrate Eid, they pass money gifts, called Eidiahs, to young members of the family. But in 2020, the pandemic threatened the passing of Eidiahs. So, stc pay used technology to rescue an ancient tradition by promoting an undermined feature in its digital wallet: easy person-to-person transfer. With the ‘transfer button’ repackaged into a ‘give a contactless Eidiah button’, along with a full-fledged cross-generational digital campaign, Eidiahs were circulating the nation. stc pay’s transfer feature went from unpopular to becoming second nature, and the Kingdom got its ritual back.
