SUMMARY
Representation is powerful. If you are not reflected in culture, you feel invisible. This is true for women over 50, who are underrepresented in fashion and beauty. L’Oréal Paris went beyond traditional advertising to tackle ageism, with an unprecedented age-positive act. Created with British Vogue, 'The Non-Issue' was a rallying cry to recognise older women’s worth, and a statement to Vogue’s 30-something readership that we can all look forward to ageing. It increased positive brand sentiment, inspired younger women, sparked global awareness and triggered affirmative actions to eradicate ageism longer-term.
