It's not always easy for prominent global brands to authentically connect with a niche market. IKEA's Swearniture campaign rose to the challenge. In this campaign for the moving period around July 1st, (the biggest business opportunity for IKEA in Quebec) the Swedish giant skillfully mastered the local nuances of the French-Quebecois language, while promoting its own distinctive brand codes. The campaign really struck a chord with Quebecers, delivering a 1,436% increase in engagement on social networks, a +9% increase in-store traffic and above all, a 36% increase in sales YOY.
