SUMMARY
We created a significantly more sustainable browsing experience by replacing everything on Volkswagen’s website with over 1.5 million ASCII characters. No JPEGs. No PNGs. Only live text, used to mimic photographic light and shadow. This resulted in a website that’s 99% cleaner than over 2-million sites tested. The site garnered over 27,000,000 earned impressions from 95+ media outlets, and increased traffic to Volkswagen’s sustainability-focused web content by 89%. Lastly, it helped increase awareness of Volkswagen as an EV brand by 67%.
