Each year, 80-90% schizophrenia patients will suffer a relapse. Most patients who are treated take a daily pill but succumb to error or lapse in judgement and miss a dose. And missing a dose can have dire consequences. There is a treatment option that helps prevent missing a dosage, but patients do not know about it and doctors won’t immediately offer it up. Janssen needed to spread the message about long-acting injections (LAIs), a safe, effective, alternate treatment option in order to help patients start a conversation with their doctor.
