SUMMARY
Lockdowns trapped men both physically and emotionally in their homes. Unfortunately, women were trapped with abusive partners. Women’s helplines in Ontario reported an increase of calls by 400%. With a film as the campaign centrepiece, “Day After Day, showed the parallel of lockdown isolation and how it can exasperate gender-based violence.
The campaign motivated men to learn about White Ribbon and their resources to prevent gender-based violence. Website unique site visits were up 5700% during the campaign and it secured $500 k from the Federal Government to fight gender-based violence.
