Star Tribune Brand Campaign - It's Where You Live.
The Star Tribune implemented a brand campaign to broaden consumer perceptions and usage of all Star Tribune products, particularly those other than the newspaper. The campaign used 2 space alien "outsiders" to demonstrate the relevancy and usefulness of Star Tribune Online, it being most dramatically different Star Tribune product from the well-known newspaper. Public appearance were also used to bring the alien characters in direct contact with the public to emphasize the Star Tribune's local expertise.

The Overal goal for Barron's was to reposition the publication so that a superior editorial product was seen to be much more accessible in order to attract new readers. The challenge was to find a meaningful way of doing so with a limited budget and in an intense competitive enviroment. The solution was to make the advertising a reflection of the product itself--intelligent and authoritative, yet also fresh and contempory. The result was witty, sophisticated and visually arresting campaign that positioned Barron's as the ultimate tool with which to attain wealth and successfully stimulated both circulation and advertising sales.
