Times Change
Even with the barrage of new cable networks, TV Land was able to break through the competitive clutter and brand itself as the network that celebrates the best of television. The unexpected advertising format of classic TV characters infused with contemporary trends helped TV Land to increase its awareness, exceed distribution goals and drive consumer demand for the network.

The Angry Gopher
The Golden Gophers have not had a winning season in eight years and their fans were tired of being ridiculed for having such a wimpy mascot. Our challenge was to get disillusioned fans to buy season tickets and attend the games regardless of the team's losing history. To avoid the backlash from over-promising the team's success on the field, we hyperbolized the ferocity of their mascot with a campaign that asked fans, "You may have seen a gopher, but ask yourself, have you ever seen an angry gopher?"

US Open Excitement
"Can anything beat the excitement of US Open tennis?" The USTA answered this question with a resounding NO with their breakthrough campaign that promoted the 1999 US Open. Despite the decline in the interest of the sport since the early 80s, the USTA shattered the stuffy, boring and traditional perceptions of tennis with a campaign that included television, outdoor and print. Not only did this unconventional effort increase ticket sales, but television viewership was off the charts with ratings for the finals up over 100% versus a year ago.
