The Journey to fight Sexual Violence in Lebanon

ABAAD moved from a niche NGO to becoming the largest gender equality NGO in the country, a referential NGO combatting sexual violence in the MENA region. Year after year, ABAAD started to be closely associated with the fight against sexual violence, attracting funds from global donors. The campaigns also included advocacy efforts that led to actual legal change. Thanks to a strong build-up from one campaign to another, sexual violence is today perceived differently by the general public and by survivors, who gained trust to come forward and speak up.
