October 25, 2024 – Kids Help Phone, Canada’s only national 24/7 virtual mental health resource, together with its agency McCann Canada, landed the Grand Effie award as winners of the highest honours in the Effie Awards Canada competition.
The Kids Help Phone campaign, “Feel Out Loud”, was named the most effective work of the year, and also led to the organization being named Marketer of the Year, after a brand relaunch that increased the emotional connection of children to the service by 17% and boosted usage by 16%. “Feel Out Loud” also won Gold in the Youth Marketing category and Silver in Media Idea.
Marketer of the Year and Agency of the Year are determined based on the Effie Index ranking methodology, which awards points to companies credited on awarded entries.
Rivals for the Effie Canada Marketer of the Year based on these rankings included KFC Canada, McDonald’s Canada, Labatt Breweries of Canada, and Wonderbrands.
The top contenders for Effie Canada Agency of the Year included McCann Canada, Cossette, Courage Inc, Craft Worldwide, and Wavemaker Canada.
McCann won the award after clinching one Gold, three Silvers, three Bronzes, and five Finalists across seven different clients.
The winners of these most prestigious Effie Canada awards were announced at the Canadian Marketing Effectiveness Summit held on Thursday, October 24ke. This followed the unveiling of the Bronze, Silver and Gold winners in recent weeks.
