Medicaid ‘Expansion’ has provided affordable health insurance to millions of low-income adults, but there are millions who remain uninsured. While the eligibility laws changed, people’s mindsets hadn’t: the newly eligible still saw Medicaid as something for people more disadvantaged than them, such as low-income pregnant women and children. To get them to rethink and act, Anthem flipped the script on what Medicaid eligibility looks like. Using relatability and humor, Anthem broke through and got thousands of newly eligible access to affordable healthcare.
