Palaces of St. Petersburg
The campaign to promote The Palaces of St. Petergburg: Russian Imperial Style exhibition attracted 10.8% more visitors than the goal of 500,000 to a unique, one-appearance-only event featuring a relatively unfamiliar subject. Morever, the event was being held in Jackson, MS, a city not known as a cultural center. The event also competed against perhaps the largest drawing spectacle in many years, the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. The total advertising and production budget was only 1,000,000.
